William Marshall "Bill" Parks

Mr. William (Bill) Marshall Parks passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.

He was born in Iredell County to the late Charles Russell Parks and Ruby Wooten Parks. Bill was raised on the family farm where early in life he learned the importance of a good work ethic. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with family and friends. Keeping his yard manicured and Eloise's flowers watered along with filling his hummingbird feeders became his hobby. He retired as a driver from Tyson Foods, and had a mulch business for several years. Some days it took him several hours to mow his lawn, if anyone stopped by for mulch, Bill took the time to visit.

Bill was married to the former Eloise Sparks who passed away in 2022. Life was never the same for Bill and his health slowly deteriorated. In addition to Eloise and his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Jean Wilson.

He and his beloved wife, Eloise, were faithful Christians and dedicated members of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Bill had a servant's heart and served in various roles over the years including Deacon, Treasurer and Assistant Sunday School teacher.

Bill had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and especially his church family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Tim and wife, Angela Parks; his daughter, Joni and husband, Cy Brooks; two grandsons; Weston Parks and wife Megan, and Zach Brooks and wife Adeline; four precious great grandchildren, Titus and Wren Parks and Wyatt and Abby Brooks.

Our Daddy and Pappa Bill will be missed for his kind heart, selfless nature and commitment to his family. He instilled in us Godly principles by his actions and the importance of completing a task correctly the first time."

The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their acts of service and the blessings they brought to Daddy over the last months.

The family will greet friends at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 7173 Somers Road, Union Grove, North Carolina, Tuesday, March 31 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 1 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jake Easter and Pastor Gary Blaylock officiating, remembrances by Weston Parks.
