Theresa and I have met many people in our life together but we would have to say ,Bills friendship along with Mary was not only special but treasured.
Very few people in a married couples life can be called 'TRULY GOOD FRIENDS".
We enjoyed meeting with them at Polka dances picnics and other affairs sharing thoughts on a wide range of subjects past present and future which brought joy laughter and sometimes sadness.
We both can say from the heart that this man named BILL will surely be missed in our lives.
We have a true friend in HEAVEN,
JOE and THERESA CHABALA

Our beloved "Uncle Bill" was one of my father's dearest friends, and we always knew him as Uncle Bill. He gave me my first kitten, along with so many african violets. A family joke was that every time Uncle Bill came to dinner we had spaghetti as he would be delivering flowers to our area on Thursday's and for whatever reason, that became our Spaghetti Night. A visit to Uncle Bill in Etters was always a trip to savor - the rolling hills, the variety of wonderful dogs (especially the Pulli) and our first camping experience in a tent in the grassy hillside near the greenhouses. Forever etched in my memory is the humour, tenderness and all around fun we had with Bill - he even did amazing Marine style acrobatics on our back yard swingset. The world will never again see the like of this amazing man - one of a kind and in our hearts forever. We love you Uncle Bill and we will never forget you and the beautiful life you lived. My mom will soon be joining you.

Our sincere sympathy is extended to your Family. To have Bill gone is a tremendous
loss to all of you, our Family and many Friends.
"Great Bill" will always be remembered for his
caring ways, forever humble mannerisms and his
unconditional love. The many times we shared
are precious and will always be remembered.
It was an Honor and our pleasure to have him
as a significant part of our Family. He will
forever be carried in our hearts with fond
memories. May He Rest in Peace.

Sincerely,
David and Rosemary Semic

I would like to share a few memories I have of Mr. Polites:
Gum drops and oranges slices, he loved those sugar coated gummy candies;
Hiding the bottle of soap from Bridget, so she wouldn't run away before her bath in the greenhouse;
An entire greenhouse full of African violets, every color imaginable;
Breaking the axle on his lawn tractor, because I drove into his trellis (a tractor he still used until just recently);
That large green delivery van, with a sliding driver's door, filled with flowers;
Borrowing the Polites' pop-up camper, allowing our family to have many memories;
Beeping the horn on the way to the river;
His neighbor and good friend, Sam;
Bringing my dad something to work on;
Bringing my mom biscotti; and
Sharing his asparagus crop with me.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Polites family. I know my family will miss his jolly personality and ageless smile.

Bill Polites was a Prince among men and we were lucky to have him as a valued and best friend. A Marine thru and thru and straight and true as steel. Always the best Polka dancer on the floor. We miss him
