William J. Pompa

William J. Pompa, age 65, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born in Appleton to the late Jacob and Martha (Luedtke) Pompa on July 9, 1960.

William was a simple man who found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in nature, appreciating the quiet and freedom it offered. He proudly served as a member of the National Guard, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and dedication. Music was another important part of William's life. He played drums in The Stoney Mountain Band, where love for music brought joy to those who played and listened alongside him.

William is survived by his son Channing (Samantha) Pompa; granddaughter Cheyenne Pompa; brothers Allen (Karen) Pompa and Jacob (Gayle) Pompa, Jr.; sisters-in-law Linda Pompa and Diane Pompa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Richard Pompa and Thomas Pompa.

A memorial service for William will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at BRETTSCHNEIDER TRETTIN NICKEL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 606 N Oneida Street, Appleton. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
