William "Bill/Grandpa" Pray, 89, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in
Merritt Island, Florida. Born on April 1, 1936, in
Concord, New Hampshire, Bill lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a deep curiosity about the world around him. Bill graduated from Penacook High School in Penacook, New Hampshire. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army.
He served proudly in Germany during his military tenure and carried that sense of patriotism with him throughout his life. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Bill began a long and successful career as a printing pressman at Concord Litho. His strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude made him a valued member of the team. After retiring from the printing industry, Bill embraced a new chapter by relocating to Florida. There, he embarked on a second career as a realtor-bringing his characteristic focus and determination to helping others find their homes.
Bill was a man of many talents and interests. A true renaissance man, he was an avid coin collector who also enjoyed collecting pictures and recipes. His mechanical skills were unmatched-he could fix just about anything-and he took great pride in being a skilled handyman.
Bill had a sharp mind for history and an enduring fascination with weather patterns. He was also an exceptional cook who delighted in preparing meals for his beloved wife Mary, often experimenting with new recipes from his ever-growing collection. Family was at the heart of everything Bill did.
He is survived by his devoted wife Mary; daughter Kelly; son Charlie and his wife Dawn; grandchildren William and his wife Abby, Douglas and his wife Makaylia, Carson, Spencer, Cole, Ruthie, and Jason; great-grandchildren Hallie, Emma, Taylen, and Aiden; and sister Anne DiFelice. Each of them held a special place in Bill's heart. He was predeceased by his son Peter Pray and brothers James and Charles Pray.
Known for his no-nonsense demeanor paired with a sharp sense of humor, Bill left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Whether fixing something around the house or sharing unforgettable memories with family and friends, Bill brought passion and purpose to every moment. A private funeral service is to be held among the immediate family members.
May William "Bill/Grandpa" Pray's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held privately, in keeping with Bill's wishes.
