William Andrew Pugh, 76 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Saint Luke’s East Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 MO-150, Lee's Summit, MO 64082 with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Monday at the church followed by a rosary at 11:30 and a eulogy at 11:45 prior to the mass. Donations may be made to the DAV.
William was born on October 27, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Gordon and Wanda (Hardcastle) Pugh. He graduated from East High School in 1966 and proudly served as a Sargeant in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from Avala, College in 1979. He had worked in IT for several companies and owned and operated the UPS Store in Lee’s Summit. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the American Legion, and the Boys Scouts of America. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by; His loving wife Mary Pugh of the home; 2 daughters, Melissa Sowinski and husband Jeff of Lee’s Summit, MO and Kristin Bailey and husband Shawn of Greenwood, MO; a son, Michael Pugh and wife Jill of Houston, TX; a sister Kathy Wilson and husband Carl of Shawnee, KS and 8 grandchildren, Caden, Cameron, Corey, Andrew, Faithlynn, Anthony, Asher and Makenzie. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Gordon and Wanda Pugh, a son, William Andrew Pugh, Jr., and 2 brothers, Richard Pugh and Ted Pugh.
