William "Jack" Jackson Rishell, 80, of Loch Lynn, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on January 26,1943, in Gortner, he was the son of the late William and Henrietta (Stottlemeyer) Rishell.
Jack served his country in both the US Army and the Maryland Army National Guard from 1962-2003, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a heavy equipment operator in the Army and a cook in the Maryland National Guard, where he served countless meals. Jack received Expert level on the M-1 and M-14 Rifle and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post #'s 71, 40, and 8. He enjoyed country music, NASCAR, football, and baseball.
He is survived by his grandson, Travis Keller and fiancee Rosie Reid; a brother, Charles Rishell and wife Patricia; and a special friend of 13 years, Catherine Duckworth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" (Harvey) Rishell, to whom he was married on June 4, 1964; his only daughter, Kimberly (Rishell) Keller; a grandson, Kurtis Keller, Jr.; and two brothers, Sheridan Rishell and George Rishell.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St. Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home with Pastor George H. Tichinel officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
