William L. Roberts Jr.
Passed away peacefully, Saturday, at Saginaw Senior Care, surrounded by his family. Age 75 years.
Bill was born December 21, 1947, in Saginaw, the son of the late Caroline (Lagalo) and William L. Roberts Sr. He graduated from Bridgeport High School and served with the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He married Elaine Turner, June 26, 1970. His wife of 52 years survives him. Bill retired from General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry with 40 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, camping, watching Mountain Men and most of all, loved his family especially his grandchildren.
William is survived by his wife, Elaine, three children and their spouses, Karen (Matt) Taylor; Tina (Brad) Mott; William III. (Cory) Roberts; a bonus daughter, Lisa (James) Platko; his grandchildren, Brandon (Shelby) Sullivan; Tyler (Leslie) Sullivan; Jacob (Libby) Taylor; Michael (Allison) Taylor; Tony (Destini) Roberts; Makayla Roberts; Emma Roberts; Nathan (Bear) Roberts; Alex Ward; Robbie Ward; Cassidy Mott Chinevere; Ian Mott; Alysa (Eshon) Jones; Jacob Nerio; Brooke Sullivan;’ Chelsey Vietti; his great grandchildren, Rylynn and Ansley Sullivan, Lorenzo Roberts, Kinsley and Bentley Sullivan; A’Mila Jones; his sister, Sharon Lagalo, and a niece, Debby Lagalo; dear friends that became family, Carrie Gaffney, Mike Moldenhauer and children. Bill was predeceased by his parents, a brother-in-law, Felix Lagalo, and two nephews, David and Roger Lagalo.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Elder William Waters will officiate with Military Honors by the U. S. Army and American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit with family from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the Memorial Service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Wounded Warriors. Mr. Roberts’ family wish to thank the staff and caregivers of Visiting Angels, Frankenmuth; Covenant VNA Hospice and the Aleda Lutz Veteran’s Adm. Hospital for their care and support.
