William Harrison Shelby

William H. Shelby, age 78, late of Tinley Park, IL, passed away January 2, 2026. U.S. Vietnam Army Veteran and 101st Airborne Division. William was a member of the American Legion Post 615 and the Bremen VFW Post 2791. William took great pride in his career as an electrician with IBEW Local 134 for over 30 years. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Beloved husband of the late Betty C. Shelby and the late Gloria J. Mockovak-Shelby. Loving father of Carla Contreras and Gregory (Deborah) A. Jones. Loving step-father of Marty (Christine) Mockovak, Steven (Sharon) Mockovak, Cathy (Ron) Jordan. Cherished grandfather of Gregory L. (Melissa) Jones, Santos Contreras, and Betty (Luke) Slapa. Cherished step-grandfather of Marty Mockovak Jr., Carrie (Dennis) Alvarado, Mike Mockovak, Chelsea (Greg) Enright, Samanatha Bjork, and Matthew Mockovak. Cherished great grandfather of 6. Caring brother of Pat (Jerry) Kitten, Edward (Jana) Shelby, Mary (late Dan) Leonard, Dan (Christy) Shelby, Margie (Greg) Dyess, late Kay Shelby, late Jimmy (late June and late Judy) Shelby, late Donnie (DeEtta) Shelby, late Marcy (late Edward) Harlow, late Mickey (Thelma) Shelby, late JoJo (Linda) Shelby, and the late AnnMarie Shelby. Dear son of the late Henry "Luke" and late Margaret Shelby. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews.
