William Shipman Jr., 53, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 11 am at Word of Truth. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Today, We come together to honor the life of William Shipman, a man whose preserve left an imprint on everyone who knew him. William Shipman was born in Lubbock, TX to Williams Shipman Sr. and Bana “J” Blue. He grew up surrounded by a big family, three sisters and one brother-who helped shape the humor, strength, and spirit we came to know so well today.
William leaves behind four boys, two girls, and many family members and friends, who loved him dearly. Even though life was’t always perfect and relationships weren’t always easy, the love was still there, quiet, complicated, but real and that love is what brings us all together today.
In his spare time, William loved being around people who brought him joy. Family and friends were his comfort. Whether he was hanging out, or just listening to music, he found happiness in those simple, everyday moments and when it came to music, he had his favorites R & B as his go-to, though he didn’t shy away from a good rap song. Music was one of the ways he connected with the world around him.
He is preceded in death by his mother Bana “J.” Blue, his sister Charlotte Shipman, and his brother Darnell Blue.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father William Shipman, Sr., his daughter Savana Shipman, his sons Xavier Essix, Travon Shipman, Chris Shipman, and Elijah Shipman, his sisters Yvette Sheppard and Kimberly Henderson, his grandchildren Aaliyah Essix, A’Zavion Essix, and Ja’Milian Eddington, his nephew Tommy Shipman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
