William “Bill” Shook, age 79 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his home.
He was born in Cooperative, Kentucky on February 1, 1944 the son of Sylvester and Goldie (Gregory) Shook. Bill had worked as a logger and saw miller and enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling and spending time with his family.
His parents; brothers, Edward Shook (Orene), Wayne Shook, and Jimmy Sylvester Shook II (Kathern); and sisters, Shelby Jean King, Iva Sue Jones (Ervin), and Hazel Troxell (Jesse) precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Jean (Vaughn) Shook of Stearns, Kentucky; sons, David Shook and wife, Beverly of Stearns, Kentucky and Scott Shook and wife, Reci of Monticello, Kentucky; brothers, Bruce Shook (Joan) of Monticello, Kentucky and Dale Shook of Stearns, Kentucky; sister, Ellen Coffey (Phillip) of Stearns, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Roxanne Shook of Stearns, Kentucky; grandchildren, Callie Shook, Maddie Shook, Jessica Perry, Dacey Shook (Noah), Kaira Shook (McKinnley), Zach Day, Courtney Durham, Tiffany Parriman, and Jeremy Taylor; and great grandchildren, Mia Moravec, Kendall Whitehead, Dylan Fultz, and Jack Parriman.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Troxell and Bro. Jason Shook officiating. Burial will follow in the Shook Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Funeral Home.
