William "Bill" Short, age 66 of Harveys Lake, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
He was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 20, 1958 and was the son of the late Willard and Margaret Short.
Bill attended Northeast Bradford High School, Le Raysville, PA. He worked as a temp operator for Penn Dot and later became a diesel mechanic. After his retirement from Penn Dot, he was the owner/operator of Bill's Auto and Truck, Harveys Lake. Bill was a member of the Harveys Lake American Legion. Bill was willing to help anyone, was mechanically skilled and could fix about anything.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Terry and "Skip Short; nephews, Danny and Terry, Jr. "Bugsy" Short.
Bill is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cheryl Roche; nephews, Steven (Penney) Short and Timothy Short; several great-nephews; brothers-in-law, Brian and Tim Roche and their families; sister-in-law, Diane Short; father-in-law, Frank Roche; mother-in-law, Dorothy Roche.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. L.D. Reed of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming.
Memorial donations can be made to the family to help defray final expenses.
