Woodsfield, OH - William Lee "Bill" Smith, 78, of Woodsfield, OH and formerly of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at WVU Wheeling Hospital Wheeling, WV.

He was born on March 1, 1947, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Esther Ailene Smith.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Maxine (Wilder) Smith on November 18, 2006, and his second wife, Sharron Ann (Armstrong) Smith on April 10, 2021.

He was a 1965 graduate of Boonsboro High School, Boonsboro, MD.

Bill owned and operated Smith's Floor Service in Boonsboro for many years. He retired from FMH as a Maintenance Supervisor.

He was a member of Woodsfield Church of the Nazarene Woodsfield, OH and served as a trustee and a member of the worship team. He was formerly a member of the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene.

Bill was a lifetime member of Boonsboro Vol. Fire Co. where he served as President for 18 years. He was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association in Maryland and Ohio and served as a past officer. Bill served with a group called the Broken Timbers in Woodfield, OH.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed boating and riding motorcycles, he was a very good cook, raced cars at the Hagerstown Speedway, drag raced at Mason-Dixon, and played drums in a band in his early years.

He is survived by his stepfather Gerald L. Jones of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Cassandra Daigneault and her husband Joseph of Hagerstown, MD; son Eric Smith of Mechanic Falls, ME; brothers Gary Jones of Fairplay, MD and Ronnie Jones of Boonsboro, MD; grandchildren Luke Daigneault (Meredith), Micah Daigneault (Emily), Noah Daigneault (Beth), Wyatt Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Ava Smith, and Evan Smith; great granddaughter Zelie.

Services were held on Friday, November 21, 2025 in Maryland.
