William Francis Souder

William Francis Souder was born 9/24/41 in Mapleton, Oregon to Mary and Walter Souder (deceased). He graduated 1956 from Mapleton High School and went to the University of Oregon before enlisting in the Air Force. He was stationed in K16, Air Force base in Seoul, South Korea where he met and married his wife Okja on Nov. 9, 1963 at American Consulate and at K16 Chapel. William was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1964 due to his failing eyesight. He worked at Eugene Moving & Storage as an office manager until his eyes prevented him from continuing. He went to LCC to learn how to use his computer which became his eyes. He loved working on his computer and listening to the radio...they were his eyes and ears to the outside world.
William is survived by his son Stanley, his daughter and son-in-law Judy and Frank Kim, his grandsons Tyler and Brian Kim and his sister Pam Mckillop of Colorado.
The family would like to sincerely thank Riverbend ICU, especially to RN Stephanie and her team: 8th floor team especially RN Ariel and CNA Di. They both were wonderful advocators for me and my father. The family would also like to thank Avarmere staff, especially David, Missy, and Mary for their wonderful help and support.
