He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elbert and Eula Ester Hux Southerland; children, Lawrence, Steven and Carolyn Ball; and his brother Royal Edgar Southerland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dean Southerland; sons, Raymond "Ronnie" Southerland; Michael (Missy) Southerland; daughters, Lisa (John) Preston, Amy (Andy) Austin; Raymond loved all his grandchildren with all his heart: grandchildren, Kevin (Malorie) Gregg, II, Taylor Gregg, Alexa Austin, Paige (Justin) Stokley, and Hayley Preston; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Stokley, Hunter Shults, Elijah Gregg, Weston Shults, Dustyn John Stokley and Bently Derrick; brother, Robert (Wanda) Southerland; sister, Retha "Darlene" Gervin; sister-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" Southerland; special cousin, Jerry Davis; also other family and friends.
The family would like to Thank Smoky Mountain home health and hospice for the love and compassion while caring for Raymond; and a special Thank You to Gracie and Chesnee.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, November 1, 2025 with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
