William Charles “Bill” Spry, 73 of Wilkinson, WV formerly of Holden, WV departed this life on Monday, July 21, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Bill was born February 13, 1952 at Holden to the late William Earl and Dorothy Jean (Deer) Spry. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Susan Deer; paternal grandparents, William and Nivera Spry; brothers, Riley David Spry, and Ray Elmo Spry; mother and father-in-law, James and Kay Collins, and brother-in-law, Terry Dale Collins.
He retired from coal mining in 2007, last working for Arch Coal.
Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life for 49 years, Dena Spry; his son, William Jonathan Spry of Wilkinson; brother Jesse Dell (Lisa) Spry of Low Gap; sisters, Sherry (Marty) Allen of Chapmanville, and Dewana Clemens of Huntington; extended family, P.D. Clemens of Chapmanville; brothers-in-law, James “JD” Collins of Holden, Stephen “Rob” Collins of Wilkinson, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a very special nice who was his boss, Alli Jaye Adkins, who he watched for the first 4 years of her life.
Honoring his wishes there will be no services.
