William Steenland Obituary
William "Bill" James Steenland, Age 90, of Newaygo, passed away on April 14, 2024. He was born on February 9, 1934, to William and Nelle (Van Dyke) Steenland in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bill thoroughly enjoyed his job of over 40 years as a Michigan Bell lineman. He loved football, he was a lifelong University of Michigan Football fan. Bill was a resident on Bills Lake for 51 years and was a visitor for decades before. Bill is survived by his loving wife, of almost 50 years, Carolyn Steenland; children, Thomas (Sally) Steenland, Cindy Sherman-Steenland, Caryn Steenland, Janelle (Brad) Peasley, William "Billy" Steenland; daughter-in-law, Wendy Steenland; grandchildren, JD (Elizabeth) Steenland, Tyler (Brittany) Steenland, Trevor (Breana) Steenland, Angela (Anthony) Allen, Cody Steenland, Nicole Steenland, Lindsey (Nate) Sloan, Greg Sherman, Jack Peasley, Brett Peasley, Blake Peasley; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Tim (Sharon) Steenland. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nelle Steenland; son, David Steenland; infant daughter; brother, Robert Steenland; and close friends, Barb (Don) Stephens. Bill's family held a Memorial Service Celebrating his life on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Fields McKinley Funeral Home in Newaygo.

I remember the Friday nights that Bill would spend at Neil's house and those two guys would be laughing about eeverything. He was always willing to lend a hand or tools for what you would be working on. I really enjoyed Bill, so sorry for your loss.
