William S. Stolberg

William Sather Stolberg, age 89, of Cloquet, Minnesota passed away on October 22, 2025, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minnesota. He was born on September 7, 1936, to George and Ruth (Sather) Stolberg. He was raised and attended school in Cloquet. Following his education, William served his country with the United States Navy including a tour in Guam. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Cloquet and worked for the City of Cloquet and the police department. He also owned and operated a glass company for many years. William completed his working days at Potlatch (now Sappi).

William was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, Moose Lodge, and Eagles Club. He spent many hours volunteering. William was a kind soul who will be dearly missed.

William is survived by his special friend, Jeanne Toboleski; daughters, Laurie Wick and Sandy (Rahal) Cheikh; grandchildren, Nicole Wick, Nabil (Aayla) Cheikh, Jamila (Anice) Cheikh, John Stolberg, Amina (Ethan) Hale, Tekie (Jaymie) Stolberg, and Jade Maki; as well as five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; and son, Michael.

In accordance with his wishes, no ceremonies will be held. William's care has been entrusted to Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
