William Thurston Stoner, 81, of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home on March 6, 2026, following a heart attack.

Born April 4, 1944, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Thurston and Vida (Fiedler) Stoner. William graduated from Lock Haven High School and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Lock Haven University. He was employed by the Clinton County Department of Welfare as a social worker until his retirement in 2000.

In his early years, William enjoyed running and traveled to many states to participate in marathons. He also had a lifelong interest in physical fitness and bodybuilding, maintaining a regular workout routine throughout his life. He closely followed sports, particularly local high school athletics.

His greatest joy was his family, especially his three grandsons, of whom he was very proud.

William is survived by his son, Christopher Stoner and his wife Angela of Beech Creek, PA; and his grandsons, Colby, Corbin, and Caden Stoner. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Stoner and his wife Mary Jean of Mechanicsburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews: Jennifer Stump of Charlotte, NC; Eric Stoner of State College, PA; Kimberly Tyborowski of Alexandria, VA; Justin Stoner of Lock Haven, PA; and Meredith Stoner of Taos, New Mexico.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Stoner, who passed away in 2021.

Interment will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park in the family plot. A gathering of friends and family will be held and announced at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA 17745.
