William J. Stubbs Jr.

William J. Stubbs, Jr., 84, of Albany, GA, died August 29, 2022 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 4:00 pm Crown Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Mathews Funeral Home before the service from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm. Mr. Stubbs was born in North Carolina to William J. Stubbs, Sr and Ray Campbell Stubbs. He moved to Albany, GA in 1961 and was an entrepreneur, owned several businesses including Albany Auto Salvage, real estate and was an avid collector. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jim Stubbs, the mother of his children, and his longtime companion, Loyce Tosky. Survivors include his children, Billy (Karisa) Stubbs of Chicago, IL, John (Trina) Rufener of Albany, GA and Phillip (Kathy) Rufener of New Philadelphia, OH, a brother, Terry (Kathy) Stubbs of Albany, GA, six grandchildren, Michael Stubbs and Alisa Stubbs of Chicago, IL, Katlyn Rufener of Albany, GA, Tia Rufener, Danya Rufener and Annie Rufener all of New Philadelphia, OH, and seven great-grandchildren. Flowers are welcome, however those desiring may make memorials in memory of Mr. Stubbs to the Albany Rescue Mission, 604 Monroe St., Albany, GA 31701.
