So sorry I was away and could not pay respects to a man I've admired for 40 years. From our days at the YMCA to our involvement the many organizations that we supported together, Tocco made good things happen, rarely took credit and always had a positive perspective. So amazingly successful and yet down-to-earth in every way...unassuming, low key, good natured. Tocco was a friend to all and a role model, too. I'll miss you, Tocco.

My first full time job was with Mellon and Sullivan. I worked directly with Attorney Sullivan (never called him Tocco, even after I left and saw him outside the office). Many years later I worked at the Corporation Counsel's office for the City of Waterbury and would see his name on documents. Circle of Life. He was a just and fair man. Your family will be in my prayers.

My first job as a T.A.C. was with Judge Sullivan . He swore me into the Connecticut Bar in 1994 and was instrumental in my getting hired as a prosecutor , a job I still hold today. I´m so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great man and a great judge. My condolences to his family.

Regrettably, I will not be able to attend Justice Sullivan's services. I have no doubt that many many persons will attend to pay their respects. I had contact with Justice Sullivan when he served as Chief Justice and later when we sat together on cases in the Appellate Court.

I really liked him. He had an internal compass that unfailingly pointed it the correct direction. He also had wisdom ... a trait very much lacking in our modern world.

Please accept my condolences. Thank you.

Mrs. Sullivan,
Im very sorry for your loss. I went to Sacred Heart high with Tim class of 1988 and knew Paul as well. I met you several times during those years and remember how proud Tim and Paul were of their Dad. Although it is sad to say goodbye you know that Judge Sullivan and his beloved family will all be reunited at the time God decides. Knowing that Judge was a devout Catholic as many of us are who grew up in Waterbury and went to Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Conception are. Once again I offer my condolences to you, Paul ,Timmy and the whole famiky. Mike Cavanaugh
