We met Gerhard 11 years ago while volunteering at Helping Hands. Each winter when we returned to Myrtle Beach from Canada we would ask to volunteer the same day as Gerhard and Richard. We enjoyed his stories and humor. He would always have us over for a "home cooked meal" and a nice glass of wine. Always enjoyed his stories about his travels, pictures and updates on his family, who he was very proud of. We will miss him a lot this winter when we get to Mrytle Beach.

Mr. Gerhard became one of my favorite people. He use to volunteer at Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach and he was outstanding. He would educate me on things going on and also make me laugh with his jokes. He would even check on me during his many travels by sending post cards and emails. It was an honor to know you Mr. Gerhard.

We are so sorry to hear of Gerry´s passing. As neighbors of his at the Cardinal townhomes, we met Gerry years ago when my parents lived there also. We shared many laughs walking out side and he welcomed us I´ve for a dinner or glass of wine. We will miss his great smile and chats whenever we passed in the parking lot. Sending our condolences and prayers for you all. Fred and Barbara Woods Cardinal Townhomes #2.
