William Francis Thompson (51) "BT", "Willie T." Lake Wallkill,Sussex, Vernon Township, New Jersey died peacefully at Port St. Lucie, Florida on Friday morning, October 21st, 2022. Son of the late William F. Thompson and Jane Lynch Thompson Glussi. He is survived by his beloved, loving wife, Kerrin Thompson and his children, sons Keigan, Brendin, Padraic and his lovely daughter, Makenzie, brother Charles and sister in law, Jennifer Thompson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
BT was born in Brooklyn, New York where he graduated from Xaverian High School and also graduated from The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. BT was a proud New York City firefighter and first responder on September 11th, 2001. He retired from Engine 37, Ladder 40, "The Heart of Harlem".
BT was an active member of the Lake Wallkill Community for many years where he served as Treasurer and advanced to Trustee on the Executive Board. He is renowned for being the chief cook, bottle washer and planner for many community events. Pulled pork was his specialty! He will be greatly missed by his dear family and friends as well as his Fire Department and Lake Wallkill family and especially his trusty dogs, Chief Brody and Mr. Hooper.
A visitation for BT will be held on Sunday, October 30th, 2022, from 2-6PM at the Ferguson--Vernon Funeral Home (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS) 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 31st, 2022, 11AM at Saint Francis de Sales RC Church in Vernon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his name to The New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation, www.nyffburncenter.com., 21 Asch Loop, Bronx, New York. 10475
