Reverend William "Buddy" Lee Tipton died suddenly on October 30, 2025, at his residence. He was 82 years old.

Buddy Tipton, known to most as Pastor Buddy, was born in Panama City, FL.

After graduating from High School, he joined the Navy to serve his country. Initially was dishonorably discharge, would later be changed to honorably discharged.

Buddy began working as a welder working with crews around the Gulf Coast area.

Buddy eventually began attending Southeastern Bible College where he studied Pastoral Ministries. He graduated from Southeastern with bachelor's degree in Pastoral Studies in 1975. Later would receive his master's degree in Pastor Studies.

Shortly before graduation, Buddy accepted the Senior Pastor position at Central Assembly of God in Vero Beach, FL. He would lead Central from a small church of 30-40 people to over 600-800 people over the next several decades of service.

Pastor Buddy, retired from Central Assembly of God in 2021 after 46 years of service as the Senior Pastor. A well-respected member of the Assemblies of God. Also, a well-known and respected member of the Indian River Community.

Pastor Buddy is survived by Mavis Tipton, wife of 57 years. Two children, daughter Tammy Talbot Chet-Wynd and son-in-law Rupert; Son, Stephen Paul Tipton and daughter-in-law, Kellie. Three Grandchildren, Vivian Tipton, Stephen Tipton, and Jaclyn Tipton. Two Great Grandchildren, Paul Charles Lee Tipton and Sadie Ember Tipton.

Buddy was proceeded in death by his parents, William Hubert and Mary Marie Tipton; sister, Mary; Uncle Frank Butler.
