William Jackson "Jack" Trantham, a lifelong resident of
Odessa, TX, passed away at the age of 76 on December 25, 2025, due to an unfortunate car crash. Born on December 5, 1949, in the same town he would cherish his entire life, Jack's presence was a constant source of joy and comfort to all who knew him. Jack was a man of integrity, known for his loving and friendly nature. He was generous in spirit and always willing to lend a helping hand. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted brother to Kay Hill and her husband Dennis of Corpus Christi, TX, Lee Hamrick of Weldon, TX, Debra Pate of
Odessa, TX, Angela Morris and her husband Dennis of Weldon, TX, and David Trantham and his wife Sandra Trantham of Groveton, TX. Jack's warm-heartedness extended to his numerous nieces, nephews, stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. A proud graduate of Ector High School, Jack's career spanned various positions within the Oilfield Industry. His professional journey took him to esteemed companies to name a few such as Key Energy, Salmon & Son, and Amoco, where his hard work and dedication were well recognized. Jack's commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his faith. As a devout Christian, he lived his life guided by the principles of love, compassion, and service to others. Jack's passions and interests were as wide-ranging as his career. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Shelly Abbott Trantham, and together they shared a love that was evident to all who knew them. Jack's love for animals was unparalleled, and his home was often a haven for various pets he cared for over the years. An avid collector, Jack found joy in discovering and preserving unique items that spoke to his eclectic taste. Fishing and the great outdoors were among Jack's greatest pleasures. His love for nature and the tranquility it offered was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple gifts. Jack's ability to connect with people was remarkable; he was a true 'people person' who never met a stranger. His warm smile and engaging conversation made him a beloved figure in his community.
