I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a fine lawyer and led a remarkable life. May he rest in peace.

I´m so very sorry to hear of Bill´s passing. I´d like to share my favorite memory from our time at Lake Christian Center in late 1990´s.

My dad came to Christ late in his life. He developed cancer and stopped attending church for a while because it was unsightly on his face. My dad, Roy Barrios, decided he needed to be back in church. The first Sunday he returned, he sat in his usual pew, second from the front and next to the aisle. As was his and mom´s custom they were alway 15 minutes early. Bill, who always loomed larger than life in personality and stature, came down the aisle and saw my dad who was all of 5´3". I can still see him as he got down on one knee beside my dad, took my dad´s hand in his own. He bowed his head and pressed my dad´s hand against his own forehead and said, "Roy, I´m so glad you´re back at church." I can´t adequately describe how precious this moment was, but I never looked at Bill quite the same. Instead of seeing the powerful attorney and important leader of the church, I saw a humble servant of God who cared deeply for the souls of others. His Biblical teaching was invaluable in the 2.5 years my dad lived as a believer in Christ. When my dad passed away not too long after that, Bill and Nancy hosted our family and friends at their beautiful home after his funeral, pouring love and grace over our broken hearts. And my mother appreciated his "beautiful prayers" for her and offers of help in the time that followed.

Nelda and I are sad that you of Lakeview Church have lost one of the great persons of your history. We were honored to serve with him as Pastors. He was a friend, mentor, and very trusted confident. Personally, I have no one else in memory who could even come close to a person of his stature. I will always appreciate his steady hand in the moments when any attack of the enemy threatened the general welfare of the congregation. Every Pastor should have a "Bill Treeby" in his resume. Our prayers and love to Nancy and immediate family.

Bill was very influential in my development as a lawyer. Sometimes intimidating, but always generous, he was a good teacher who
took the time to explain the issues at hand. I was in the office next to Bill for several years on Carondelet St. and he became my friend. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

My wife and I send our deepest sympathy on the passing of Bill. Such fond memories of Lakeview during the 70s. I remember those Nelson Street fellowships after service at Bill's home and that Ping-Pong table in the garage. Bill was a fierce competitor-never could beat him. Nancy, always the gracious host. Bill loved the Lord, loved teaching and serving, loved the church body, and loved directing the choir. Such a diligent and steadfast man of God. A tower of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. May God's peace and strength sustain Nancy, Jonathan, and Patrick as well as all the entire family.

Nancy, so sorry for your great loss. Bill was such an influence in my life. His father was the first person I ever heard preach. Paul and I looked up to him and he helped us tremendously not only in business affairs but in setting a great example of Christ for us to follow. My heart goes out to you.

There are elders and then there are very few leaders, fixtures and standard bearers ...that was Bill. And a father figure and pillar of strength to many. My thoughts and prayers to Nancy, Jonathon, Patrick and to all the Lakeview family at this time of great loss to us and gain to heaven!
