Sending love and prayers for Bill´s family and all who knew him who are surely grieving, especially today as you/we celebrate Bill´s life and legacy.
Having Bill Walker as an upperclassman to look up to was one of the highlights of my freshman year of high school. The class of 2000 really was special and Bill especially looked out for us like a big brother. I still have the rock with an "L" haphazardly painted on it that he gave us at band banquet (so we would always remember which foot was "left" - it´s a marching band joke...), fond memories of "chubby bunny" games and pool parties and bus rides and bumping into him while walking backwards in formation (I really think he stayed put on purpose a few times just to pick on me, and then he started hollering at me and scaring the life out of me as his "warning" that I had backed up too far, haha) and New Year´s Eve marching through the streets at midnight... He was a excellent leader, role model, teacher, and friend, and I am thankful for having known him and for his service and sacrifice for our country.
Until we meet again...
