William E. Walker, 88, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, with his daughter by his side.
Bill or Billy as he was known to those who loved him was born in Pittston. He lived most of his life in Pompano Beach, Fla., where he made lifelong friends and honorary family members. He managed the Riverview Restaurant in Deerfield Beach, a position he said was the best job of his life. He retired to New Jersey in 2003 to enjoy the rest of his life in the company of his family and to enjoy his four grandsons.
He was predeceased by his parents, William E. Walker Sr. and Mary Grace Clisham; wife, Margaret and his loving sister, Anne.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Grace and Rich Rogers; grandchildren, Billy and wife, Hannah; Sean; Aidan; and Patrick; great-grandson, Landon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Annamarie Walker; Jack and Connie Walker; Patrick Walker; Jay and Lena Walker; sisters and brothers-in-law, John; Sharon and Larry Shotwell; and Colleen and Sam Ardenti; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.
Viewing hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Graziano Funeral Home, 700 S. Twp. Blvd., Pittston Twp.
Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Graziano Funeral Home. Those who plan on attending are asked to be at the funeral home no later than 8:45 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 35 William St., Pittston.
Interment services will follow in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Twp.
