William Ward Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nichols-Stephens Funeral and Cremation Service on Dec. 18, 2025.
William 'Bill' Davis Ward passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 82 in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on September 20, 1943, in Rector, Arkansas, Bill lived a life marked by his passion for the cowboy lifestyle, his work in law enforcement, and waste management, and most importantly, his devotion to his family.

Bill's career was as varied as it was dynamic. He worked for Delaware County Solid Waste in his later years and was a retired Delaware County Deputy Sheriff. His earlier years were spent in the rodeo, where he was not only a professional bull rider but also a proud member of the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR).

A passionate horse trader and all-around cowboy, Bill's love for horses permeated his life. His down-to-earth nature, coupled with a big heart and a penchant for humor, endeared him to many. Bill's laughter and smiles were a constant, uplifting presence in the lives of those around him.

Bill is survived by his loving family, including his children, Kimberly Jackson (Dennis) of Grove, Charles Ward (LaShae) of Pigeon Forge, TN, and Teresa Ward of Grove. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Tylor Shambles (Shelby), Nathan Ward, Landrie Ward, Daniel Ward, Jamie Bardsley; and six great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Breadon, Waylon, Everly, Jensen, and Jaya. His sister-in-law, Ann Ward of Jonesboro, AR, and numerous friends also mourn his passing.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Juanita (Davis) Ward, his twin brother, Bob Ward, his wife, Debra Ward, and an infant grandson, Camden.

Bill's life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a true cowboy, a loving family man, and a friend to many.
