William Waterman Obituary

WILLIAM A. WATERMAN
November 24, 1931 ˜ June 14, 2024

William “Bill” Waterman peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2024, at 92 years of age. Bill was born to Wayne and Elizabeth Waterman in Richland Center, WI, on Nov. 24, 1931. He married the love of his life, Margie, on Aug. 15, 1953, in Camas, WA, and together they shared 54 beautiful years.

Bill was a US Army Veteran who proudly served our country during the Korean War and continued his service in the US Air Force Reserves upon returning home. Bill dedicated himself to public service throughout his life, exemplified by his United States Postal Service career.

In addition to his dedication to work, Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and watching baseball. Bill’s loyal companion, his dachshund Willie, was a constant source of happiness and companionship. Above all, Bill treasured time spent with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Bill dedicated his life to his faith and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1963.

Bill is reunited with his beloved wife Margie, who preceded him in death. He is survived by daughters, Kathy Sampson (Dick) and Diane Summers; grandchildren, Michael (Laura) and Avery (Kevin); great-grandchildren Henry and Alice, and many loving friends and family.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 9900 SE Mill Plain Blvd. Vancouver, WA 98664

Dear Diane & Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot count how many times and wonderful memories I shared Diane with your Mum & Dad from taking trips to Pelton Damn and to the coast. Your parents treated me as one of there own and were always so gracious and kind. I was the lucky one to have known them both and were both a large part of my life growing up in Vancouver. Thank you for sharing your folks with me. Love you friend.
Love, Susan
