William A. Watkins Sr.

William A. Watkins Sr., age 93, of Brookville, Indiana, died Monday, March 2, 2026 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, Indiana.

Born January 10, 1933 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Leonard A. & Ada (James) Watkins. On July 11, 1951, he and the former Dorothy Juanita Price, were united in marriage, and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2013.

He worked for much of his life in construction, having built greenhouses all over the country. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting & fishing, mushroom & ginseng hunting and being around his family.

Survivors include two sons, James (Patty) Watkins and Terry (Misty) Watkins, all of Brookville; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lena Price of Trenton, Ohio and Dean Conley of Somerset, Kentucky; two brothers, Cecil Watkins of Finneytown, Ohio and Ronnie Watkins of Lexington, Kentucky; as well as many nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Ann Hodge who died 3/5/2016, a son, William Watkins Jr. who died 11/08/2013, two sisters, Delma Candido, Zena VanHook; two brothers, Gene Watkins and Leland Watkins.

Family & friends may visit from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Don Harper will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville
