William "Bill" Joseph Weber
Bill was born November 14, 1949, in his farmhouse near
Chrisney, IN. He passed December 28, 2025, at his home in Panama City Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie; mother, Ruth; and sister, Lee Ann.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah; sons Billy and Ryan; daughters-in-law Stephanie Roche and Julie Dorsch; grandchildren Lily, Liam, Ryan, Davis, and Loren; siblings Charlene, Kathy, Dennis, Ward, Karen, Pat, Charlie, Marilynn, Rick, and Chris; and many nieces and nephews.
Graduating in 1968 from Dale High School, Bill moved to Panama City to attend Gulf Coast Community College on a baseball scholarship, the first recruit of their new baseball coach, Bill Frazier. He loved Gulf Coast Baseball and the tight-knit family of players there during Coach Frazier's first seasons. It was there he met the love of his life and married his bride of 54 years, Deborah Reynolds Weber, on June 5, 1971. After playing ball and graduating from Jacksonville University, Bill returned with Debbie to Panama City Beach and started their family.
For more than 50 years Bill modeled Christ's love for others as a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. He was proud of his family and loved his friends deeply. He rarely put it into words, because when he tried it was invariably interrupted by tears. He felt his love for you that much. But he might gift you with a well-timed sarcastic one-liner.
Bill worked at United Parcel Service for 33 years, making lifelong friends of co-workers and the people he delivered to. On the long drives between stops in Southport or Mexico Beach he'd listen to sports talk-radio and pray the rosary.
Bill loved all sports; it hardly mattered what it was as long as it was scored or timed. Golf, skiing, IndyCar racing, Hoosier basketball, Fighting Irish football were some of his favorites. But he particularly loved baseball and coached a generation of champions at Frank Brown Little League and Rhett Borland Junior Major League. He taught us that showing up only to the scheduled practices was never enough to be exceptional. He loved playing card games with his family during the annual after-Christmas trek back to Indiana.
Bill treasured his walking buddies. Walking, reminiscing, arguing, keeping each other going, the time spent with them was priceless.
Heaven has gained a happy and content soul. All of us are better having known him.
Services will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Panama City Beach, FL with visitation from 10-11AM and Mass from 11AM-12PM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
