William Muriel White, 79, gained his wings to leave this temporary place to go home and be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 28th, 2024. Muriel was born in Lafe on February 19, 1945, to Elbridge and Audie Lee White. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert White and Teddy Joe White; and niece, Melissa White.
Muriel will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 46 years, Marilyn White; his son, Rodney (Lori) White; his daughter and son-in-law, Raina and Lawson Thomas; his grandchildren, Allie (Brody Parker) Thomas and Ridge Thomas; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Muriel was a wonderful man who made an impact on the lives of every person he encountered. His most treasured role in life was that of dad and grandpa (later nicknamed by his granddaughter as "Willie"). Willie found joy in getting up before the sun, coaching his daughter's and granddaughter's basketball teams, watching Cardinal baseball, and riding his John Deere tractor when and wherever he wanted. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars at different venues around the county.
Though his time here seems to have come and gone too soon, death is not the end of our dear Willie's grand adventure. His soul will journey on, to the place where we all shall meet again. As the days go on, we will look for him in the world that continues around us, and though he will be with us in spirit, know that he is home finally - on the back porch in his rocking chair with a fresh cup of hot coffee.
Family and friends will gather at Finch Cemetery for a graveside service to honor Muriel at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, officiated by Rev. Marty Ezell. Pallbearers will be Lawson Thomas, Ridge Thomas, Ken Hoppe, Jacob White, Travis Agee, and Derek Formon. Honorary Pallbearers are Rodney White and Clarence Murray. In honor of Muriel, please send memorials to the Greene County Rescue Squad, 405 S. 6th St., Paragould, AR 72450.
