Rev. Mr. William H. Wildes passed away peacefully at his home on October 11, 2010 surrounded by his loving children. He was born June 7, 1921 in Boston, MA and was visitor to the Treasure Coast since 1954 moving to Stuart six years ago. He was ordained a Permanent Deacon on May 7, 1977 by Cardinal Medeiros at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston. He served St. Brigid’s parish in Lexington, MA and St. Christopher’s parish in Hobe Sound. Upon his retirement as President of Buckley & Scott Oil Company, he served as Associate Director for the Diaconate Office in Boston for 13 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He was an Honorary Life Member of Knights of Columbus, Council #94, Lexington, MA; Holy Name Society; Rosary Society; and Harvard Musical Association. He was the loving father of William H. Wildes, Jr. (Lynda); Marie Wildes Krevosky (Richard); Katherine E. Wildes; and Nancy Wildes Naughton (William). He was the much loved Papa to ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Ronald Wildes. Preceding him in death was his wife of 46 years, Rita (Benoit) Wildes; brothers, Clifford, Walter, Robert, Leon, Warren and Eddie; and his sister, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997. SERVICES: Viewing will be 9:30AM to 11 AM, October 13, 2010 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
