William H. Williams Jr.

William H. Williams, Jr., age 76, of Heflin, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026.

He was born September 5, 1949, in Roanoke, Alabama, the son of the late William H. Williams, Sr. and Dolly Neal Williams.

William spent his working years as a truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. He was an avid Alabama football fan and greatly enjoyed following NASCAR, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. Above all else, William's greatest love was his family, and he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, David and Tammy Smith, Stacy and Angie Smith, and Melissa and Brandon Wilson; his grandchildren, Athena Marie Smith, Tiffany Paige Smith, Seth Allen Smith, and Drew Daniel Smith; his sisters, Vicky Yarbrough and Tina Williams; and his brother and sister-in-law, Aubrey and Beverly Williams.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianne Stapler Williams; his son, Brian Williams; his granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Smith; his grandson, Wesley Wilson; and his brother, Terry Williams.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
