William "Lamar" Willis, 79, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Lamar was born on August 28, 1946, in Century, Florida, and grew up in Robertsdale, Alabama. A graduate of Robertsdale High School, he dedicated his career to the State of Alabama Department of Agriculture, until his retirement. After retirement, Lamar continued his work for 11 years with Agrex, based in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Lamar enjoyed reading, fishing, spending time with his family, and watching his grandsons play sports. He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves-rarely missing a game and always cheering them on with enthusiasm.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Charlotte Willis; his daughter, Sherri (Jeff) Corte; and his grandsons, Michael and William Corte. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Mary Willis, and his sister, Annie Joyce Thweatt.

Funeral Services for Lamar will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at Fairhope Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Neighborhood Bridges Baldwin County (P.O. Box 1948, Fairhope, AL 36533) in Lamar's memory.

The Willis family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice Care for their kindness and compassionate care during Lamar's final days.

Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.
