During my internship, I never received a paycheck, but I received something far more lasting-encouragement, wisdom, and kindness from Mr. Wilson. Each day, he took the time to talk with me, to share his stories, and to remind me to "keep going" and believe in myself. He told me I would become an attorney one day, and his words stayed with me long after my time at the firm ended.
I will always remember the way he spoke about the solar eclipse, knowing it might be his last, and the dignity with which he carried himself even when others didn´t always treat him with the patience or respect he deserved. He had a way of making people feel seen, and he did that for me at a time when I was young and unsure of myself.
What I took from him was not money, but the value of perseverance, integrity, and believing in one´s future. Mr. Wilson left a mark on me that no paycheck ever could, and I will carry his encouragement with me for the rest of my career and life.

Rest in peace.

Farewell, my forever friend.. The words of the song by Mahalia Jackson, says it all:

If I can help somebody as I travel along,
If I can help somebody in a word or song,
If I can help somebody from doing wrong,
then my living will not be in vain..

You helped many, including me, I will never forget you.
Now, go and rest high on that mountain and take your rest.
Remember the laughs we had over, "yeah boy," and you could never get it right. You always said, "yeah, buddy!"

Well, 'yeah' is the key word now, because, you said "Yeah, Lord, yes. I'm now ready to go home.

Fondly.
your friend,
Margaret
