William Wright

William Wright, Sr., a cherished husband, father, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 in Waterbury, Connecticut at the age of 82. Born on November 24, 1941, in Franklin County, North Carolina to the late Joella Smith and Willie Perry, William was a man of great humor, who left an incredible mark on the hearts of those he encountered. William's life was a testament to his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. After years of dedication in the tire repair industry, he took a leap of faith and established his own business, Tire Service On Wheels in Cheshire, CT. He was also a disciple of Grace Baptist Church in Waterbury, CT where he served on the Usher Board.
William is survived by his wife Margie (Addison) Wright; children, Pamela Wright, LaTonja Wright, Shawn Wright, William Wright, Jr., Beverly Riddick, Valerie Wright, and Stephanie Wright; and siblings, Shirley Richardson, Barbara Boone, Marsha Parks, Henry (Mary) Smith, Beverly Washington, Bruce Perry, and Carlton Dunston. He was predeceased by his sons, Willie Wright, Darryl Wright, and Jeffrey Wright; granddaughter, Amanda Wright; brothers, William Burdette, Arthur Perry, John Perry, and Harvey Wright; and sisters, Reverend Dorothy (Wright) McCargo, Dorothy Teasley, and Chinnie Lee Teasley. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His memory will be treasured by the stories shared and the lives he touched.
