Williams Violet P

Violet P. Williams, 94, passed away at Alden of Huntley, IL on November 14th, 2025.

She was born on June 1st, 1931, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Edith (Nuber) Waytula.

Violet was a member of the 1949 Class of Lakeview High School in Chicago. She met Edward J. Williams at Union Special and they were married on September 5th, 1953 at Bethlehem Church in Chicago. Violet worked at Union Special, and later for the Huntley Consolidation School District 158 for nearly 30 years until her retirement in 1996. In retirement, she volunteered at Grafton Township elections and the First Congregational Church of Huntley and loved sewing, quilting, traveling and spending time with family. Later in retirement, she enjoyed meeting new friends and doing the activities at Huntley Springs Retirement Resort.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Yu-Yau) and James (Donna) Williams; her grandchildren, Chase (Lia), Trent, Brett (Casey), Alek and Anya (Chris) Williams; and her great-grandchildren, Henry and Jude Williams.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother Edward L. Waytula and sister Virginia Waytula.

A brief Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 2nd at the First Congregational Church of Huntley, 11628 E. Main St. Visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the church from 10–11am. Burial in the Huntley Cemetery will be private.

Memorials in Violet's name may be directed to the First Congregational Church of Huntley, of which she was a member for more than 70 years.
