A Celebration Remembering the Life of Mr. Willie H. Beavers, 68, of Talladega, Alabama, will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clint Walker officiating. Interment will commence immediately following the services in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. A public viewing for Mr. Beavers will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 1-6 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. Willie H. Beavers was one of twelve children born to the parentage of Minister Joseph Beavers and Minnie Lucille Pointer Beavers on November 5, 1952 in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Willie accepted Christ as his Lord and savior and united with Bethel Baptist Church in Alpine, Alabama. He received his childhood education in the Talladega County School System and attended Talladega County Training School, known today as Talladega County Central High School. Willie enjoyed working and fixing on cars. When Willie was not busy with cars, you could often find him on the creekbank fishing, cooking, or grilling, which was his passion. On Friday morning, the 28th of May 2021, Willie transitioned from this walk of life to his eternal home. Upon answering his Master's call, Willie was welcomed home by his daughter, Cassandra Stockdale, parents, Minister Joseph and Minnie Beavers, seven brothers, Ernest Gooden, Sam E. Gooden, Eldridge R. Beavers, Rufus Beavers, Dewey Beavers, Smith Beavers, and Larry Beavers. Willie touched the hearts of his entire family and leaves precious memories that will forever be cherished by his long-time special companion, Diane Verges; two sons, Willie Joe (Tameka) Beavers and Harvey (Mary) Beavers; one step-daughter, Markita Wilson; one stepson, Bernard Verges; one brother, Michael Beavers of The Phillipines; three sisters, Minister Mary Jo Moore, Minister Louise Carmichael, and Minister Linda Parker; two aunts, Clara Pointer of Washington D.C. and Nellie Carmichael of Talladega; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
