Willie Bond Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis Funeral Home - Mattapan on Mar. 5, 2026.
Willie Mae Bond, 86, of Boston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Southampton County, Virginia, attended East Suffolk high school, and was the daughter of the late Will T. and Luvenia Boykins. Preceded in death by her brothers Walter Boykins Sr. and Colonel Boykins Sr., Willie Mae is survived by her sister, Lumatha King of Chesapeake Virginia; her children, Cynthia, Patsy and Kitrel Bond of Massachusetts/Florida; 4 (3 deceased) grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Willie Mae was a devoted nurse who proudly retired from Shattuck Hospital in Boston. She lived a life rooted in love, service, and quiet joy. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and valued the close connections she kept with family and loved ones in Virginia.

Willie Mae found peace in life's simple blessings-sitting in the warmth of the sun, listening to radio talk shows, studying the Bible, and watching her favorite television programs. She also had a special gift for nurturing plants, particularly Aloe, which thrived under her attentive care.

Creativity was a defining part of Willie Mae's essence, especially in the kitchen. With remarkable imagination, she transformed whatever was available in the cupboards or refrigerator into unique meals and homemade cakes. Her creations were so inventive they often inspired the familiar and fond question, "What is that?"-a memory that continues to bring smiles to those who knew and loved her.

Willie Mae will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her faith, her creativity, and the warmth she shared so freely with those she loved.
