Willie Bee Camp, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Cassopolis, Michigan, at the age of 76. Born on September 11, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana, Bill's early years were marked by a determination to embrace life fully, overcoming challenges that molded his wonderful personality and zest for living.

In his professional life, Bill took great pride in his career as a Railroad Engineer. His dedication to his work was evident until a significant injury in the 1990s led to an early retirement. Even after stepping away from his career, Bill remained engaged and active in other pursuits, notably in the world of performance and entertainment.

Bill established Americas Best Frisbee Dogs, a renowned performance group celebrated for its high-flying acrobatic frisbee-catching stunts performed by highly trained dogs. This endeavor brought together Bill's deep love for his pets, a passion for entertainment, and an affinity for football. For over 30 years, he religiously attended Pittsburgh Steelers games, bringing joy to fans of all ages alongside his talented canine companions. His commitment extended to the Chicago Bears, where he and the Frisbee Dogs showcased their talents for approximately 17 to 18 years. During his illustrious career in canine entertainment, Bill participated in hundreds of NFL halftime shows, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went.

It all began with Whitney the Wonder Dog, the first of Bill’s frisbee stars and the inspiration behind the entire performance group. Among the many dogs who followed, two held a particularly special place in Bill’s heart: Jumpin Jack Maniac and Star. These beloved companions were not only crowd favorites but also deeply cherished members of Bill’s extended family, embodying the spirit and joy he brought to every performance.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill’s character shone brightly through his warmth and humor. Meeting Jim in the late 1990s, they quickly formed a cherished friendship. Jim fondly recalls Bill's slapstick humor, particularly his ability to turn a challenging situation into a moment of laughter. Such qualities made Bill not only a mentor in his professional life but also a beloved friend to many.

Bill is survived by his devoted significant other, Lynette Susanne Markley, and his loving daughter, Lisa Griggs. He was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Clayton and Blake, and also cherished the role of great-grandfather. Bill leaves behind a good friend, Jim, along with many other extended family members and close friends who will deeply miss his vibrant spirit and unwavering support.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Bee Camp Sr., his mother, Gladys Pletcher Camp, and his son, Nathanial Camp. He also mourned the loss of his siblings, Joel Camp, Jerry Camp, and sister Bonnie Woods.

Willie Bee Camp will be remembered for his kind heart, his lively spirit, and the countless lives he touched through his bravery, creativity, and love for others. His legacy will continue through the joy he brought to those around him and the memories shared by family and friends.
