*December 25, 1943 – September 25, 2025* Willie Evans Jr., a cherished resident of Ellenwood, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on Christmas Day, 1943, in Sumter, South Carolina, Willie lived a life full of warmth, dedication, and service. Willie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he cultivated a deep sense of duty and honor. Following his military service, Willie embarked on a distinguished career as a Private Investigator, working with the Georgia POST Police Officer Standard Training. Through his work, he made significant contributions to law enforcement and the betterment of his community. Deeply loved and respected, Willie leaves behind a legacy of integrity, commitment, and kindness. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him and his loss felt by the countless lives he touched. A visitation will be held at Rainbow Park Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to celebrate the profound impact Willie had on those around him. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at 11:00 am, also at Rainbow Park Baptist Church. Willie's life and achievements will be honored, reflecting on his generosity, strength, and the unwavering love he shared with all. Following the service, Willie will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, at 2:00 pm. His final resting place will mark a life dedicated to service and honor in the spirit of his beloved country. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Dekalb, who hold the family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Willie Evans Jr. will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who had the distinct pleasure of knowing him.
