Willie Gomez

Our dear dad and grandpa, Willie Gomez, a resident of Las Vegas, NM was called home on November 18, 2024. He was born on June 30, 1931, in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Enrique and Sotera Gomez.
He retired from the City of Las Vegas where he operated heavy equipment. He loved hanging out with his children, and grandchildren telling life stories and giving advice, playing the harmonica and listening to music. He loved working on all his projects and in retirement he was able to do so at his leisure, he was a handy man and mechanic. He was always in the garage tinkering with something or cruising his truck. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Sotera Gomez; wife, Agneda Gomez; daughter, Sylvia Gomez-Trujillo; sons, Frank, and David Gomez; son-in-law, Frank Trujillo; brothers, Delphino, Carlos, Max, Arturo, and Vivian Gomez and sister, Elvira Lucero.
He is survived by his life partner, Carmen; his fur baby, Boots; son, John Gomez; grandchildren, Stephanie Marquez (Jarrad), Joylynn Gomez (Frank), Gabriel Gomez (Sonya), all of Las Vegas, NM. Josie Gomez-Gonzales (Brad), Chico Gomez (Vicky) of Amarillo, TX; Isaac Lucero (Christina), Tammy Lucero-Valdez (Edward), Eden Gomez all of Las Vegas, NM and Valerie Gomez of El Paso, TX. Great-grandchildren; Ulisses, Christian, Michael, Destiny, Mariah, Sebastian, Santana, Sabeian, Shawn, Seneca, Sammi, Sebrena, Shane, Valentine, EJ, Genesis, Ulissa, Madison, Christina, Alyssia, and Ashley; sisters; Theresa Barela, Mary Alirez, and Chavela Lucero. He is also survived by numerous cousins, family, and friends.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at Immaculate Church as well with the following serving as Pallbearers; Michael Maestas, Frank Sandoval, Gabriel Gomez, Sebastian Saiz-Gomez, Sabeian Saiz-Gomez, Joseph Cordova. Honorary Pallbearers; his great-grandchildren, Ulisses, Christian, Destiny, Mariah, Santana, Shawn, Seneca, Sammi, Sebrena, Shane, Valentine, EJ, Genesis, Ulissa, Madison, Christina, Alyssia, and Ashley.
