Willie Jones

Willie Edward Jones, age 85, of Greenwood, widower of Barbara Joyce Jones, passed away, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home. Born on May 1, 1940, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Willie was the son of the late Jimmy Haskel Jones and Louise Driggers Jones Chavis. Willie was known for his unwavering work ethic, dedicating many years to serving as a security guard at Fuji and an operator at Greenwood Mills. He had a passion for the outdoors, often spending time fishing and rabbit hunting with his beloved son, Eddie. He was a true outdoors man, always seen tinkering and exploring the beauty of the natural world around him. A devoted Christian, Willie lived a life full of gratitude and joy, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing him. He worked hard and approached life with a positive spirit, leaving a mark on the hearts of many. Willie was preceded in death by his only son, Eddie Eugene Jones, two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are his daughters, Frances Boswell and Barbara Mohr; sister, Doris Jones; grandchildren: Holly (Dwight) Way, Ashley (Christopher) Wilkes, Brandon (K.C.) Boswell, Shawn Boswell, Samantha Stewart, Dustin Boswell, Crystal Sears, and Chris (Angel) Stewart. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday at Harley Funeral Home.
