Willie Sue McCollum passed away on November 9, 2024, in Tyler, Tx, at the age of 98. Born on March 10, 1926, in Jacksonville, Alabama to John Smith and Bertha Jane (Kirk) Burgess.
Willie moved to Texas in 1955 and married Gene McCollum. Throughout her years, Willie embraced the roles of mother and grandmother with an open heart. She devoted her life to raising her children in Texas and later extended her love to helping raise her grandchildren.
Willie was an avid gardener, finding joy in nurturing plants and flowers.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Jimmy Cullins of Big Sandy, Joshua Presley and wife Debbie of Big Sandy; daughters, Linda Sue Newkirk of Starrville, Darlene Henderson of Harmony, Gail Phillips of Jacksonville, AL; along with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Burgess and husband, Gene McCollum.
A private burial was held at Shady Grove Cemetery.
