Obituary For Willie M. Moses
Mr. Willie Melton Moses, affectionately called "Mohawk", was born on January 26, 1956 in Stephens, Georgia to the late Willie W. Gresham and Ms. Marietta Moses. He peacefully transitioned on August 25, 2024 at the age of 68.
His father, Willie W. Gresham, maternal grandparents Andrew and Magnolia Moses, fraternal grandparents Willie and Gussie Gresham, and son, Willie Antonio (LaToya) Jewell, preceded him in death.
He was educated in the Oglethorpe County School System in Lexington, Georgia, where he graduated in 1974. He was in the trucking industry for most of his adult life. Additionally, he had a deep love for his family, which included his children and grandchildren, and loved drag racing.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his special companion, Ms. Jerrie Pearl Bonds; his mother, Ms. Marietta Moses; children, Wilfredo (Lawanda) Moses of Jonesboro, GA, LeFaye (Jerry) Moses of Griffin, GA and Monica (Reginald) Mattox of Crawford, GA; his stepson, Patrick (Keyonna) Bonds of Winterville, GA; his grandchildren, Ethan Moses, Karleigh Rose Moses, the late Lauryn Moses, DeAnthony Moses, Telvin Fleming, Damieon Brown, Antonio Jewell, Jr., Leilani Lasalle, Mariah Mattox, Reginald Mattox, Jr., and Traelon Mattox; his great grandchildren, DeAnthony Moses, Jr., Demarius Scott, Carter Florence, De'Aria Mason, River Moses, and Rayden Moses; his step grandchildren, Idarious Bonds and Karshiunia Rucker; and his great step grandchildren, Kimarie Bonds, Mahari Rucker, and Milan Rucker; siblings, Evangelist Gida McWhorter of Athens, GA, Jimmy Moses of Springfield, MA, Timothy (Michelle) Moses of Springfield, MA, Doris (Sylvester) Murray of Lexington, GA, Lucille Terrell of Athens, GA, Willie Mae (Darnell) Daniel of Athens, GA, Douglas (Rachel) Jewell of Athens, GA, Beverly Gresham of Athens, GA, and Aunt Emma (James)Smith of Springfield, MA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 12:00pm - 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Thankful Baptist Church located at 1218 Union Point Road, Stephens, GA 30667.
