Willie Charles Sheedy, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away in February 2025 at the age of 84. He was born on October 11, 1940, in Uvalde, Texas, to Joe and Bertha Doris Beckett Sheedy.
Willie was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Whitehead Sheedy, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, family, and cherished memories. He was a proud father to his three children: Doris (Klein) Edwards, Shannan Carroll (husband John Carroll), and Jeff Sheedy (wife Nyla Sheedy). His legacy lives on through his 9 grandchildren: Erick Klein, Shane Edwards, John Edwards, Christopher Gleason, Autumn Sheedy-Zoeller, Madison Sheedy, Joshua Carroll, Logan Carroll, and Maighann Carroll. Willie was also a proud great-grandfather to Isabella Klein, Hayden Sheedy, and Jensen Edwards.
Throughout his life, Willie was a hardworking and dedicated man, balancing several jobs in and around the Uvalde area. He worked in ranching, for the City of Uvalde, Cecil Atkinsons, and the Amistad Nursing Home. In his spare time, he enjoyed selling firewood, creating woodworking projects, and crafting cascarones for Easter. He was known for his craftsmanship and loved spending time working with his hands.
A man of strong faith, Willie was a devout Baptist and lived his life guided by his beliefs. He was also passionate about hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and gardening, finding joy in the simplicity of nature and the outdoors.
Willie was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, three sisters, one daughter, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home
