Willie Starr Obituary
The family will have quiet time on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 from 1:30 to 2 PM at Mount Carmel Holiness Church of God, 517 Kings Mountain St. Clover, SC 29710. The funeral service will start at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastor Patricia Starr officiating. Burial will follow at Clover Community Cemetery.
Pastor Willie was born on November 5, 1945 in Clover, SC. He was the son of the late Howard Lynn Starr and Rosie Easter Starr, and the widower of Shirley Mackins Starr. He was a diesel mechanic at Duke Power Nuclear Station and the Pastor of Mount Carmel Holiness Church of God in Clover where he touched many lives. He also was a US Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
Pastor Willie is survived by his, children: Sharon Peay (James), Shelisa Lytle (Andre), DeAngela Starr, Vince Starr (Ileana), Willford Barnette, Tiffany Starr; He was also survived by his siblings Cora Frye (Danny), Larry Starr (Pastor Patricia), and Carl Starr; grandchildren Candice Carter, Ashton Starr, Erica Starr, Brittany Massey, Antion Carter, Demorris Starr, Dominique Starr (Selena Starr), Tremaine Watson, Vonnquia Asbury, Quashanda Robbins and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Pastor Willie was preceded in death by his sons, William "Will" Demorris Starr, Howard Lynn Starr, his siblings, James Starr, Donald Starr, Sherman Starr, Joe Starr, Frank Starr, Mary Jane Wesley, Louise Kayne, Linda Starr, Ida Baker, and Minnie Oliver.
In memory of Pastor Willie Starr, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Holiness Church of God, 517 Kings Mountain St. Clover, SC 29710.
