Willie Thompkins, Jr., born on June 26, 1962, in Madison, Florida,was the oldest son born to Willie Thompkins, Sr. and Easter Lee Thompkins. Duringhis early years, he spent his summers and after school working with his father and olderrelatives on the family farm. They instilled in him a work ethic as well as an appreciation for agriculture. These values shaped his desire to accomplish many things in his life.

His loved ones' prayers, encouragement, and support developed within himself a “can do” spirit to not only give his best effort, but to do so with an attitude of gratitude. He did not let them down as he was a popular, well-respected scholar and role model who demonstrated leadership that was groomed by his Agricultural Science teacher, Mr. E.R. Scott, in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization, as well as by Principal James Ray. He graduated in 1980 from Madison High School where he earned a full scholarship to study Agriculture at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida.

Willie regularly attended Architillery Missionary Baptist Church. At the age of twelve, he accepted Christ as his Savior and became a faithful member under the pastoral leadership of Reverend James C. Miller. While he was a resident in Tallahassee, he and his family became members of Mt. Sinai African Methodist Episcopal Church under the pastoral leadership of the Reverend Willis Saunders.

Willie was a “people-person” whose love for his wife and children was unconditional. He was a role model who aspired to spend quality time with them. He believed that having a relationship with God, a family that loves you, and friends that are true is the definition of a successful person.

Willie’s “can do” spirit enabled him to successfully become the entrepreneur/businessman he dreamed of for his career. He owned and franchised a variety of business endeavors including multiple Domino's in South Florida, Jack’s B-B-Q and Genesis Landscaping in Tallahassee, Florida. He also managed Panther Creek Sod Farms.

God gives the strongest soldiers the toughest battles. Willie Thompkins, Jr. “fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7) He heard the Lord whisper his name on Friday, November 28, 2025, and “in the twinkling of an eye, he transitioned from earthly labor to receive his heavenly reward. “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter the joy of the Master!” (Matthew 25:21)

Willie Thompkins, Jr. has left his forever love, legacy, and life lessons to be shared and celebrated. Loved ones who will miss him until they meet again are his devoted wife, Brenda Thompkins of Tallahassee, FL; sons: Joseph (Candace) Robinson of Valdosta, GA, Edward (Ashley) Jenkins of Crawfordville, FL, and Marcus (Aisha) Thompkins of Tallahassee, FL; daughters: Shajuana (Darrell) Conyers and Shamekia Brown both of Tallahassee, FL, and Aisha Thompkins of Santa Rosa, FL; loving mother: Easter Lee (Larry) Joseph of Madison, FL; brothers: Sammie (Teresa) Thompkins of Quitman, GA and Marvin (Jewell) Thompkins of Woodbridge, VA; brothers-in-law: Ezra Mckenzie of Monticello, FL; sisters: Diane Robinson, Almira (Peter) Baker, Juanita (Henry) Adiele, all of Madison, FL and Katrina Frazier of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters-in-law: Charlotte (James) Wright of Belle Glade, FL and Cheryl Mann of Orlando, FL; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; along with many other sorrowing relatives, comforting friends, and uplifting church family.

Preceding Willie Thompkins, Jr. in death were his father, Willie Thompkins, Sr. and his brother, Joel Frazier, Jr.
