Willie Grant Williams was born on June 10, 1962, to the late Grant and Caldonia Williams. He was the sixth of eight children and affectionately known to all who loved and cared for him as “Bo-Diddly.”
He attended the public schools of Atkinson County in Pearson, Georgia, where he built lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community. “Bo-Diddly” was a beloved brother whose life was rooted in faith, family, and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings James L. Williams, Larry Williams, Linda Williams Baldwin, Jacklyn Williams, Shavonda Williams, and Juanita Smith.
Bo-Diddly’s spiritual journey began early in life. As a child, he and his family worshiped at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Raised in a God-fearing household, he learned the value of hard work at an early age. He became a longtime, dedicated employee of Vickers Farm Company in Nashville, Georgia, where he was respected for his work ethic, reliability, and cheerful spirit.
He loved fishing and the simple joys of nature. His easygoing personality, infectious laugh, and gentle heart left lasting impressions on everyone he met.
He will always be remembered as a devoted brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, whose warmth and generosity enriched the lives of all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings Jimmy D. (Helen) Williams, Maetta Graham, Geraldine W. Washington, Ben Smith, Andrea (Wilford) Vickers, Franklin Williams, Vanessa Williams, Marcus (Angel) Williams, and Calvir Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many endearing friends.
